Also known as short-term disability insurance, this is provided as part of our collective agreement (see article 5-5.17). It kicks in after the first five days of an illness and covers you for up to two years.
You will be paid 85% of your pre-disability salary for the first year and 66-2/3% for the second year of absence. There are no premiums as this is a defined benefit of our collective agreement.
